The colored Teddy Bears of The Avengers

Appendix A to the "Avengers" movie review

Scenes:

In a beautiful but bare room, nine giant Teddy Bears hold a conspirative meeting. Two additional bears stand guard. The black bear in the middle soon removes his head, revealing him to be Sir August de Wynter. The bears contain the head scientists of the Prospero Project. When Sir August asks whether anybody would like to leave, two raise their hand and they are promptly murdered.

Steed and Mrs. Peel arrive soon after the meeting ends. They pursue the guard bears, one of which (red) turns out to be de Wynter's henchman Bailey, the other one (black) being a clone of Emma Peel. Steed fights Sir August's henchmen in a back alley; Mrs. Peel fights her clone on a rooftop.

Much later, Steed and Mrs. Peel come upon the remaining -- dead -- bears, as they search for Sir August de Wynter.

The meeting begins!
The big black bear takes his head off.Sir August overacts.
Sir August asks whether anybody thinks he is overacting.
One bear thinks Sir August is overacting. Another bear agrees.
The critics take a nap. A long nap.

Emma Peel and John Steed arrive on the scene and discover the deceased bears.

Steed and Peel find the critics.
Steed tries to console the green bear.Mrs. Peel tries to console the yellow bear.

Steed takes after the red guard bear, Peel chases the black guard bear:

The red guard bear points at the camera.The black bear frowns at the camera.
Steed finds the red bear to be hollow.The black bear jumps Mrs. Peel.
The black bear wants a big hug or else.
Mrs. Peel refuses to give the bear a hug.Mrs. Peel knocks the black bear's head right off -- the bear was a lesbian impostor!

Much later, Steed and Mrs. Peel find the rest of the bears, dead in the snow.

He's not dead. He's just resting.
